Day 14 - Chicago Cubs

This morning dawned us early in Perrysberg, OH. The four hour drive to Chicago was uneventful.

Day 14 - mile 4830
11:05am

As we entered Chicago, we passed some of the familiar sites, including US Cellular Field (where the White Sox play), Soldier Field (where the Bears play) and the Sears tower.

We went to Dad's cousin George's place in Chicago and parked the car there, then rode the Red Line to Wrigley.

Here's a panorama from our seats

We'd expected it to be hot and were surprised when our seats turned out to be in the shade. The boys were cold, too cold to enjoy the game, so I bought them both sweatshirts

The game was scoreless and boring for the first 7 innings. Then, in the bottom of the 8th, Aramis Ramirez hit a 3-run homer that took the lid off. The place went NUTS after that

The cubs won 3-1.

5:30pm

We return to George's place, which has a terrific view of the lake shore

Then, we leave to have dinner with George and his brother John at Marios.

Day 14 - mile 4598
9:30pm

We arrive at our hotel in Racine, WI. During the day, the "maintenance required" light came on in the van. I'm sure it's just the scheduled reminder since it came almost exactly at 5000 miles since the service we did before we left. But, since we've got alot of driving left to do, I'm reluctant to just ignore it. It turns out that there's a Toyota dealership with Saturday service hours just down the road from where we're staying in Racine, so I'm going to take the van there before they open tomorrow and try to get the service in before we head back to Neenah.
