Today, we leave the Grand Canyon and make our way to Disneyland. We're off to a slow start, but we hit the road out of the Grand Canyon at 11:05am.
We pass Valle, AZ where there is this funky Flintstone campground.

Day 23 - mile 8031

We reach Kingman, AZ and stop for lunch and gas. We eat at Mr D'z Diner which is something of a landmark. We know we're experiencing something special when our side of onion rings arrives as a tower.

There's really not much to write about on this drive. It's long. It's hot. It goes through the Mohave Dessert and other parts of Arizona and California that are best passed through as quickly as possible. [...like Barstow...]
Day 32 - mile 8338
8:15pm
We arrive at our hotel in Anaheim. It's right outside the gates into the park. A very short shuttle ride or about a 10 minute walk. Since today was Katie's birthday, the hotel made a card and left some cookies in the room for her. Nice touch.

We hook up with my brother Dave, his boys and my Mom. Dave, his son Andrew, Charlie and I go into Disneyland around 9:15pm. We make good use of the time and take in the fireworks show

We also rode Star Tours, Space Mountain, Big Thunder and the Matterhorn. The Matterhorn is still my favorite. It was Andrew's first time.

Charlie and I close down the park and get to bed around 1am.
