Day 22 - St,. Croix Falls to Wausau, WI

Woke up early this morning, around 6:30am, and made plans for a bike ride today. I settled on a ride around the Dells Of The Eau Claire River Park. The ride is described in this book extract. After a quick breakfast and packing, we leave the hotel at 9:45am.

On the way out of town, we pass a cool fireworks retail sign

You just don't get that around where we live.

Day 22 - mile 5758
1:02pm

Arrive at the park for the ride. We're hungry, so first we have a little picnic lunch with some of the food we've been hauling around.

2:10pm

The bikes are assembled and it's off on the ride.

I modify the ride a little to cut off about 4 miles (the published length is 14.8 miles). Good thing because Katie told me that her butt hurt around mile 7.

3:00pm

We finish the ride, about 10 miles. Katie recovers quickly and trots down to the dells.

There are alot of people hanging around.

Include these yahoos jumping off the high rocks despite signs warning that it's dangerous. I discourage Katie from attempting it, but the warning is unnecessary.

Katie takes a spin in the playground at the park before we hit the road.

Day 22 - mile 5780
4:45pm

We arrive at our hotel, the Jefferson St. Inn, in downtown Wausau. After showing and changing, we head down to dinner.

Dinner's done, we head back to the room where it's bed jumping and pajama dancing time.

Time for bed. Back to Neenah tomorrow to put the family back together.
